Since the model from the manufacturer Senvion chosen during the call for proposals was no longer available for the project, the parties ended their discussions by mutual agreement. Dune-du-Nord Wind Farm therefore changed its manufacturer and wind turbine model.
The new model chosen by the developers is the E-126 EP3 model, with a 86 m high steel tower and a nominal power of four megawatts from the manufacturer ENERCON. Equipped with all the latest technological advances, this wind turbine is equipped with the “cold climate kit” as well as “storm mode”. The wind turbines are designed for installation in maritime regions and their use in the Magdalen Islands is entirely appropriate. The manufacturer’s engineers have studied the characteristics of the site in depth and confirm that this is the most suitable model for this site.
The Dune-du-Nord wind farm has demonstrated that this new model meets the technical and contractual requirements of Hydro-Québec, which has agreed to the change.
