Construction work will resume on May 18

Construction work on the Dune-du-Nord wind farm, which was suspended last March due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will resume on May 18, 2020. Indeed, the deconfinement process announced by the Quebec government will allow workers who must travel to be able to go to the Magdalen Islands starting next week.

The general contractor Construction Énergie Renouvelable Inc. (CER) and its employees will faithfully comply with the health instructions in force. In addition to completing a health declaration before their departure, they will respect the quarantine imposed by the Public Health Department that applies to all arrivals in the archipelago. Thus, for 14 days after their arrival, workers will only be able to travel for work, go to the construction site and return to their place of accommodation at the end of the day.

The work schedule includes the installation of the substation and its electrical components, the construction of the collector network, as well as the installation of the wind turbines and the wind measurement tower. The wind turbines will be delivered at the end of August and the park is scheduled to be commissioned on September 30. All of this work will be subject to environmental monitoring carried out by Attention FragÎles.
