“The wind turbines of the Dune-du-Nord wind farm will soon arrive in the Magdalen Islands”
The arrival of a first boat in the Magdalen Islands is scheduled for September 7, 2020. The loading of this boat will include the blades, nacelles and turbines, and its unloading should begin on September 10.
The arrival of a second ship is scheduled for September 16. This will mainly transport the tower sections, which will complete the delivery of all the components necessary for the installation of the two wind turbines of the Dune-du-Nord wind farm.
The transport of the components will be carried out under escort by the Sûreté du Québec as provided for in the regulations for the transport of non-standard goods.
These operations are likely to attract the attention of many people. The population is urged to exercise caution and to respect the instructions that will be issued by the security officials who will accompany these unloading and transport operations.
A new milestone has now been reached and we expect the wind farm to be commissioned at the end of October 2020.
